A very warm welcome to the ISOSS homepage. Your steps to "our home" is very much appreciated by the ISOSS family and friends.

Please join me to thank and congratulate the team of people who initiated the organization of ISOSS under the leadership of Dr Munir Ahmad. We must appreciate the fact that it took a lot of efforts and sacrifices to set up an international organization like ISOSS, and without on going support of people like yourselves, ISOSS could not have achieved what it is today. I believe the underlying motivation of the origin of ISOSS has been the urge to help uplift the state of affairs of citizens of Islamic Countries through improving the system of collection, management, analysis and interpretation of data, and its effective use in the economic and social development.

Since its inception in 1988, ISOSS has been engaged in various activities to achieve its goals. I suspect it achieved all it wanted to achieve. However, the fact remains that it very successfully organized eight biennial international conferences in various parts of Islamic World in spite of various shortcomings and limitations. As far as I know, ISOSS is the only discipline-based professional organization in the Islamic Countries, and I believe its ongoing successes may lead the way for professionals of other disciplines to follow the suite.

ISOSS is, and will be, what its members and affiliates want to make it. Participation with open mind, creation and promotion of atmosphere of tolerance and mutual respect coined with professional spirit and sacrifice would take ISOSS where it should be. We must learn from our past, but more importantly work together for a better future.

We ask Almighty Allah to guide us to successes in this world and more so in the Hereafter.
